Something New (Chase Miller - Lafayette, LA)

Thoughts. Is it ever often considered how much we as human beings think in a day? Quite a lot of ideas, plans, aphorisms, imaginations, wonders, if you think about it. There is so much going on in our heads, about anything and everything. What we did that day, what we planned to accomplish, who we would meet, if we had time to finish what we needed to do, if you'd actually have to wait in line to get lunch, if your crush would actually acknowledge you that day; the list goes on and on and on. Watch the City Burn (Joseph Michael Benoit - Iowa, LA)

I shall watch as the city becomes rubble and burns I shall watch, and I shall laugh because of course nobody learns I shall watch as the city empties and greys because the arrogantly ignorant just won't learn new ways So, let them hurry, let them worry themselves into an early mass grave I have too little time and too many rhymes to be diverted by divergent drones So when the flames begin it'll be Bourbon, not gin that will be added to the juice in my glass and as I drink my juice while you idiots run loose I'll be sitting back laughing drunk off my ass
