The Louisiana Social Pledge

We pledge our allegiance to Louisiana. We will embrace what makes us and our state unique. Louisiana will be recognized as a leader and innovator of the New South. Many great leaders of the future will come from this state. And we will show both the media and politicians that we are smarter than them. We will no longer have our resources exhausted and our people used and left behind. We will work hard and play hard. We will protect each other. We will support each other. We pledge that we will do whatever we can to get these things in motion right now. We will no longer wait for a path to be cleared for us. We will clear the path ourselves. And we ain’t giving up easily. We will socialize in the real world just as well as we do on the internet…in hopes to organize ourselves effectively.

Love Sonnet #9 (Louis Toliver Jr - Swartz, LA)

I used to think that the world was bitter
But I met your spirit and thought otherwise
No need to confess this to you on Twitter
I rather look you directly in your seductive eyes

When I met you my deep heart bounced high
We sailed on love throughout the hardest times
I pledged loyalty to your lips until the day I die
We mocked the world for our love crimes

Forget the shallow that don't appreciate you
I snuggle to the warmth of your insides
Your sexy aura grips my body like glue
Rushing through your veins my energy hides

This attention I give that you don’t really need
I listen to me and off your lips I forever feed

He'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain (Louis Toliver Jr - Swartz, LA)

My baby is coming home to me tonight
‘Cause I don’t want to be all alone
I wait by the fireplace anxiously smiling
Though the road is dangerous, I believe
That he can tough through any storm
He’ll be coming ‘round the mountain
My love, my mate, my soul, my man

Winter (Louis Toliver Jr - Swartz, LA)

Warm hot chocolate breath
Breezes against my cold neck
Your body pushes up against mine
We are guarded by our clothes
Yet we can feel that we are naked
For each other’s presence inside
It is winter, but our blood is summer
Rather in sleet, snow, or frost
Love heats up our icy skin

Normal (Louis Toliver Jr - Swartz, LA)

It is beautiful to fall to pieces
Lives are simply puzzles
Let’s put ourselves together

You be you and I be me
We are who we are
Let’s not get love backwards

Hold me, rather a she or a he
We were born in this skin
Is it not normal to have a soul?
