Louisiana Words will be participating in Lafayette's Pride this June 11th @ 3pm at Cite Des Arts! We will be having a special pride theme show highlighting local historical figures that help paved way for equality. Ted A. Richard will be reading a special chapter from his new book, The 16th Second, about the Acadiana Pride Festival and Louis Toliver Jr. will be reading from his first novel: Pride Story which lays out the history of pride in Acadiana, based on true events. The show will also memorialize Louisiana equality legends: Kristopher "Biscuit" Hebert (also a drag performer) who helped bring mental handicap awareness to the state and Cara Ann Overgaard, the first trans director. We will have a roster of ally writers and an open mic! If you're interested in participating in the show, email us at louisianawords@gmail.com or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram (louisianawords1). We can't wait to be reunited!
