[Here we go round the prickly pear]
Small faces, frozen in laughter
Who will never laugh again
[Life is very long]
To live it out in a single moment,
Like a moth consumed by flame
What sort of life would that be?
[For Thine is the Kingdom]
Shining eyes, trapped in ecstasy
Pale lips, to taste, to touch no more
[Between the conception and the creation]
There, on the verge of bliss
Always happy, and yet, never
For what is the mountain without the valley?
[Between the essence and the descent]
A hollow sort of love
Always satisfied, never tested
And never proven true
[Between the motion and the act]
Reflections in a pond
Where do our moments go?
[Between the idea and the reality]
Drowned, forgotten forever
Or captured, like a snapshot
Teetering on the cusp of time
[This is the way the world ends]
What is light without the darkness?
[This is the way the world ends]
We climb our way through the grave of dreams
[This is the way the world ends]
And fall, to rest, but where's the peace?
Small faces, frozen in laughter
Who will never laugh again
[Life is very long]
To live it out in a single moment,
Like a moth consumed by flame
What sort of life would that be?
[For Thine is the Kingdom]
Shining eyes, trapped in ecstasy
Pale lips, to taste, to touch no more
[Between the conception and the creation]
There, on the verge of bliss
Always happy, and yet, never
For what is the mountain without the valley?
[Between the essence and the descent]

Always satisfied, never tested
And never proven true
[Between the motion and the act]
Reflections in a pond
Where do our moments go?
[Between the idea and the reality]
