Remember World Aids Day (Jason M. Smith-Lafayette, LA)

For all the ones we have loved so dear,

On this day of remembrance we should not shed a tear.

We should remember their life and love that they have shared,

Now they are free like our Lord’s angels soaring through the air.

Now they are in heaven and blessed with God’s loving grace,

Never again to be harmed or shunned by this human race.

If you could put a face on all of those who have passed,

How many names or faces could you remember or even want to ask?

Would you help your fellow man in their time of need,

Or would you just walk on by like they were the disease?

December First is set aside as World AIDS day,

Will you remember where you were or what you had to say?

Did you take a minute to light a candle or stop and pray,

Or did you run through your life as if it was just another day?

On June 20th, 2023, Louisiana Words Allstar, Jorge Arturo, moved on from this world leaving our hearts broken. He was a charismatic and talented human being.
