Louisiana Words Re-Ignites It's Flame for It's 8th Year!

Louisiana Words is back to celebrate it’s 8th year alive! This year we will re-ignite our artistic flame across the state for the our worldwide audience to see! Louisiana Words will evolve into a platform for Louisiana statewide writers and artists to have a free platform to expose themselves to the rest of the world. This way, they can build an audience and hopefully boost support for future endeavors that may or may not be related to Louisiana Words.

In 2021, in this 8th year of this movement that’s grown into an esteemed community’s artistic body of work, we are here to stay! This is something to celebrate! Louisiana Words will start it’s evolution into a nonprofit organization. You can expect the return of our monthly feature of writers on “Mots de Louisiane,” public shows, and, virtual readings. Also, we have a podcast and a documentary in the works.

Please follow Louisiana Words often in July to learn more about who we are and where we are going in the future. Of course, we will be celebrating the best writing of all time with postings and shares on social media. Starting with the best of 2021, expect postings often in July with tons of information about Louisiana Words, the Home of Louisiana Writers.

But, the beauty of our writing movement is that the words of our loved ones live on with us.   On June 20th, 2023, Louisiana Words Allstar, Jorge Arturo, moved on from this world leaving our hearts broken. He was a charismatic and talented human being. Jorge resided in New Orleans, LA and had been active on Louisiana Words for over a year. To honor Jorge’s life and work, we will be sharing his writing and live performances all Summer 2023. Please help keep his spirit alive by sharing his work. We know that Jorge’s words will connect with our readers and we hope to keep his spirit alive.  Jorge’s first submission: “The Dog Show” debuted on February 6th, 2022 and is his most successful piece to date. In 2022, Jorge spent 10 weeks in the top with “The Dog Show,” “Weavers,”  “They Say Love Kills, This Time It Really Did,” and “If Hell is Real, It Looks Like an Airport.” His la...
