Don’t Write (Vincent Pierre Cheramie- Lafayette, LA)

Poetry is for the weak at heart
and the unstable minds
for the damaged heads at best
Don’t write
Don’t even listen
Don’t write out what’s on your mind
that is only for you to hear
Don’t listen to other people’s troubles
that only makes you open up to the world
Literature has only taught us that we are bound to repeat our past mistake
to toil and wallow in our own spit
and if someone tells you the opposite, it’s a lie
inspiration is a lie
Beauty is a joke
art is piss piss
pissing your life away
Don’t Write
Don’t even listen
you might hear something

When it seems like those who are supposed to love me don't get who I am. When no one has any idea of the pain my smile hides. When I am worried about being forever labeled by others. When I am the one that everyone counts on for strength. When I never show any weak…
