In black and white, the trail is uncovered.

An image of the spectrum, all colors

Shown in order, displayed behind the figure,

Emphasizes the meaning of the season.

One last glimpse in the beholder’s eye

Before an adventure begins with a vast journey

Across the ocean, barefoot.

All of this seems unreal for the area becomes metallic

And all too familiar, a complex of apartments.

In the middle there is a mound

And in the middle of the mound,

It’s forgettable- the number of times I was called a “fucking faggot” as a kid. As a former child of god, I wasn’t expected to know what those words meant. There’s nothing that hurts more than when we lose someone from our Louisiana Words family. But, the beauty of our writing movement is that the words of our loved ones live on with us. On June 20th, 2023, Louisiana Words Allstar, Jorge Arturo, moved on from this world leaving our hearts broken. He was a charismatic and talented human being.
