Madisyn Barbosa came out 5 years ago which she thought she was the only transgender person in Lafayette, LA. She didn't meet another trans person till 2 years after she came out. She got a job bartending at Soundfactory, met a transgirl, and thanked the skies she wasnt the only one. She became an advocate for transgirls. She was found by people in baton rouge and new orleans that have heard of her, and together they started a statewide transgender advocacy group thats about three old now, from 18 members at the first meeting, to now 400 members state wide. She bellydances in places and clubs around Acadiana, She has bellydanced on stage with Dehli to Dublin at Festiva International. She is known in the cajun bayou scene pen and ink artist, she is known for her fairy art, many poeple have have her art tattoed on them. She pends her life helping others through her experiences. It’s forgettable- the number of times I was called a “fucking faggot” as a kid. As a former child of god, I wasn’t expected to know what those words meant.
